This entryway built-in was designed to maximize the storage in an underutilized hallway along the staircase. With a growing family and limited closet space, the client needed a solution that could handle everyday essentials—bags, shoes, coats, and sports gear—without overwhelming the home’s aesthetic.

We designed a wall of full-height closed cabinetry painted in Benjamin Moore’s Chantilly Lace, offering ample hidden storage and tall compartments for seasonal items. Each family member has their own drawer for shoe storage, while upper cabinets provide space for bulky gear. To soften the scale of the built-in and bring warmth to the entry, we introduced a mahogany bench seat nestled between the painted units. This architectural break in material not only serves as a practical place to sit while putting on shoes but adds a grounding visual rhythm to the hallway.
