In this Hastings-on-Hudson kitchen, a sun-filled nook offered the ideal spot for a built-in bench. The family envisioned a laid-back dining area with a clean, minimal silhouette—something open, inviting, and easy to live with. We designed a pared-back bench with an angled backrest for comfort and a deep seat to accommodate cozy cushions and layers. By leaving the space beneath open, the bench stays visually light while providing flexibility for styling, storage baskets, or simply extra legroom.
